More on Animals later, but I want to say this: Waters is a smart guy and I don’t want to be glib criticizing his conceptions. ‘Pigs on the Wing, Part 2,’ Animals (1977): This is the closing track on Animals, a reprise of the first song: just 90 seconds of strummed acoustic guitar and a few short lines. His dislike of Roger Waters in visible from the very first entries, but this one is especially telling: And I quickly got drawn into the narrative that he weaves throughout this short-bood-length piece. I don’t usually read these “Every X Rated” articles, but when it’s Bill Wyman writing about Pink Floyd – all of Pink Floyd’s songs – well, that’s worth a scan.
